Thank you and God Bless!

November 2's Curriculum

We apologize for this being late and it shouldn't really come as a big shock to you that the theme for the 2's class is Thanksgiving. We have been talking a lot about how being what we are thankful for in our lives and the kids have some wonderful responses. God or church was the number one thing out of a lot of their little mouths, followed by family, friends, toys, and of course turkey! We have discussed how praying, both before a meal and other times, is a way of showing that we are thankful for the gifts that God has given us. We have talked about how it feels to be grateful, or thankful, for something and how to express these feelings to God.

You have probably seen some cute crafts coming home with your little ones talking about this theme as well. We have done a number 4 with the things we are thankful for inside, and of course the trademark hand print turkey! We hope your children are enjoying all about what it means to be thankful to God for all the blessings in our lives!

Isaiah 12:4
In that wonderful day you will sing:
"Thank the Lord! Praise his name!
Tell the nations what he has done.
Let them know how mighty he is!

Coming next month...... Jesus' Birthday!

August lesson plan: Fishers of Men!

The last month of lessons for the current "2's" class! Our 3 year old's will be graduating to Sunday School next month. The first day of the new year of Sunday School is September 12th. Parents of 3 year old's entering Sunday School, please let me know if you have any questions about the new Sunday morning routine for your kids!

Our lesson this month is about becoming "Fishers of Men", from Luke 5:1-11.

Here is the passage from the bible:

The Calling of the First Disciples

1One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,a with the people crowding around him and listening to the word of God, 2he saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.

4When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let downb the nets for a catch.”

5Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

6When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

8When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” 9For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.

Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will catch men.” 11So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

The kids will hear the story each week, we will do a craft involving fish, and they will have a coloring page of the story to bring home.

Coming next month: Graduation Party! Be sure to bring the kids to church on Sunday, September 5th, so we can celebrate their graduation from the Nursery to Sunday School.

Also coming next month: For our new class of 2 year olds, we will be starting the new school year with the story of Creation!

Feel free to post questions or comments!

What's your favorite nursery moment?

Session has given us an assignment, and we would love your help!

The Nursery Ministry Team has been asked to submit a story about what goes on in the Nursery. Most of our team is pretty new to the Nursery, so we'd love to hear what your favorite memory from the Nursery is!

Do you have any cute kid quotes? A favorite craft your 2 or 3 year old brought home? Any "Ah-hah!" moments that your child had about a bible story?

Please comment below, and let us know any suggestions or stories you have!

Thank you!

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. -Matthew 7:7-8

June Lesson Plan for the 2's Room

Another month, another fun holiday for our two's room to celebrate! June 20th is Father's Day. The kids will get to create a fun craft/present for their dads.

The rest of the month, we will be learning about the parable of the lost sheep.

The kids will learn about how Jesus loves everyone, just like the shepherd loves all of his sheep. Hopefully the kids will all enjoy making several different sheep crafts. Big sheep, small sheep, fluffy cotton ball sheep...you get the idea!

Don't forget, Second Saturday is this weekend, and there will be CAKE!!!

Inter-Generational Service this Sunday!

Just a reminder, this Sunday, May 30th is an Inter-Generational service, with no Sunday School.

There will be no 2's class, but the Nursery will be open for rambunctious toddlers who want to play!

Older kids should enjoy the service! There is a lot of interactive fun and music on IG Sundays.

Also, don't forget that Volunteer Appreciation Day is June 6th! Please join us between services in the Fellowship Hall to thank our Nursery, Children's, and Youth ministry volunteers! Or, to be thanked if you volunteer!

We'll have cake, presents, and a card to sign from families to the volunteers.

Don't miss it!

Many Thanks!

Thank you SO much to everyone who volunteered in the nursery on Mother's Day so the moms could have the day off! :) We really appreciated the extra time to spend with families and friends on a very special day.

Also, thank you to the lovely ladies who helped out on craft night last Wednesday!! It was so much fun to share in fellowship---and get the gifts ready too. We could NOT have done it without you. Welcome Katie to the nursery team---we are thrilled and so blessed to have you serve with us!

This month's Second Saturday was on the 8th. Molly and Hannah came with MJ and Allison, respectively :) We know it was a busy Mother's Day weekend for families, and we also forgot to send a reminder email (sorry)!!

Looking forward to seeing you next month on Saturday, June 12th! We'll also be celebrating a very special kiddo's 3rd birthday party!!! You won't want to miss it. :)

With love and blessings,
Hannah

May 2's Curriculum

May is a month all about Mothers, and our Two's classroom is no exception! This month we'll focus on the story of Baby Moses, except for this Sunday, when the kids will hear stories about how Moms can teach us of God's love. (Including my favorite, "I love you THIS much!")

The story of how Moses came to be Pharaoh's adopted son is a fun one for the 2 and 3 year old set. They like to hear about the baby Moses, and have fun gluing pictures of babies and baskets together.

We use the story of baby Moses to illustrate how our parents trust their children to God's care, and how God will protect us and guide us.

You'll see a lot of babies in baskets coming home this month! Be sure to talk to your child about how God protects and watches over us.

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

Impromptu Garage Sale!!

The generous donation of a spiffy new kitchen playset for the 2's room has inspired me to do some housecleaning in the Nursery. By God's design, my neighborhood is having a big garage sale this weekend, so I have a unique opportunity to make some money for the Nursery fund!

So, if you're looking for a fun way to help out the Nursery, stop by my house tomorrow! You can bring toys (in good condition please) to donate, check out what's for sale, or just say hi! If you are donating toys, please come early!

Anything we don't sell I will donate to Goodwill. All proceeds will benefit the Nursery Fund.

My address is in the NCPC directory, or you can email/contact me on facebook for directions: molly@northcreekpres.org.

April Lesson Plan

Each month, I have a theme for the lesson plan in the Two's Room. Most years, April's theme is Easter, with a lesson and craft each week about the Easter story. So what to do this year when Easter is the first Sunday of the month?

This year we'll be reviewing an old favorite (of mine, the two and three year olds haven't seen it yet this year): Noah's Ark!

Our first week we will "build" an ark.

Our second week we'll have a fun craft where the kids glue animals onto an ark.

The last week of April the kids will assemble a rainbow, and learn about God's promise never to flood the earth again.

Every week we will read the bible story of Noah from our illustrated kid's bible, and read a couple of picture books of the story of Noah.

There will also be Ark playsets for the kids to play with, and a coloring page each week.

Be sure and ask your child about Noah and his ark! I would be very curious to hear some of their answers.

"Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God." Genesis 6:9

"And God said, 'This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.'" Genesis 9:12

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter this Sunday! I will be at church (of course) manning the front desk in the Nursery, and probably teaching a 2's class or two.

We are still a little short-handed Easter morning! If you are available to help out in the Nursery at any of the 3 services: 8:30, 10:00 or 11:30, it would be greatly appreciated.

You can contact me at: molly@northcreekpres.org.

More later on upcoming lessons in the 2's room...

Childcare Available!

Did you know that there is childcare available during all of the Building Fund Revival meetings?

Did you know that childcare is available during Alpha?

Did you know that childcare is available Wednesday evenings for church group meetings?

If you need childcare during any of these times, all you need to do is contact Molly at (425) 743-2386, or email her at molly@northcreekpres.org.

Interested in an upcoming church event but not sure if there is childcare? Contact Molly and ask!

Wondering who Molly is?

This is Molly, our Nursery and Childcare Coordinator:

Wondering why she looks so familiar? If you've been in the Nursery on Sunday mornings, you've met Molly! She is almost always behind the desk: greeting children, showing new parents how to sign in, and probably bouncing a baby.

Wondering what's up with the wacky colored hat in the picture? You'll have to ask her next Sunday!

Welcome!

Hi everyone!

As you may have guessed, the Nursery Ministry Team is trying out some new ways to communicate and connect with the parents of Nursery children.

We'd love to hear what you think!

At the bottom of this page you will see a Google calendar for the NCPC Nursery, which we will keep updated with events, available childcare, and anything else relevant to parents and volunteers in the Nursery.

Have a question? Comment? Request? Feel free to post it here, or on our Facebook page!

"And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, 'Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.' And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them."
(Mark 10:13-16 ESV)
