The Advent Season

Today is the first Sunday of Advent, a season of waiting in anticipation!

In our newly expanded 2-3 classroom, we will be learning the story of the birth of Christ, with books, songs, finger plays, and a special present opening activity.

Each week, the kids will be making an ornament to take home, that illustrates part of the Christmas story.  If you miss a week, please let me know, and I will give you a kit to assemble at home!

And as one of my favorite Christmas carols says:

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
Our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
Our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:14
